WATER BAPTISMRomans 6:3-5
"Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized
into his death? we were therefore buried with Him through Baptism into death in
order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the
Father, we too may live a new life. If we have been united with him in His
death, we will certainly be united with Him in His resurrection."
Submitting yourself to water
baptism is your first public act of obedience and allegiance to the person of
the Lord Jesus Christ. He himself submitted to water baptism before he started
his public ministry on earth.
Baptism comes from the greek word "bapto" which means to dip or submerge in
water. As the minister submerges you in water it has prophetic significance of
"dying to our old, sinful life," and coming out of the water signifies being
resurrected in Christ.
