Accelerated Christian Education has been in use in the Philippines with Filipino students for 26 years. We have seen numerous young people graduate, make top marks on the National College Entrance Exam and other college entrance exams and be accepted into some of the nation’s finest universities and colleges.
MCA CURRICULUM is based from the SCHOOL OF TOMORROW. It is an internationally recognized curriculum operating in over one hundred countries around the world. However, there is no one-set-standard set by the school of tomorrow for the whole world; degrees of excellence vary in extremes as individuals are called upon to prove their own personal worth and intelligence.
MCA's PHILOSOPHY is founded on the premise that education apart from God, the Creator of the universe and His Word, the Bible, is not true education. Therefore, the very core of the MCA curriculum is God and His Word. All disciplines begin with the premise. Education is not the search for truth, but searching in truth. John 17:17 clearly tells us that God’s Word is the basis of all truth. “Sanctify tem (set them apart) through thy truth.”
God’s Word authorizes parents as primary educators and is demonstrated by children being given directly to parents. God further expanded this truth with the instructions that He gave to parents in Deuteronomy 6 and Ephesians 6:4. In addition, the church has been designated as the “pillar and ground of truth” (1 Timothy 3:15). Therefore, the home and church combination is the most effective way to bring up a child in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10)

The ACADEMIC PHILOSOPHY of MARANATHA CHIRISTIAN ACADEMY is summed up in the five laws of learning:
1.) The pupil must be placed on a level of curriculum where he can best perform – acknowledging that all students are different – step-by-step – mastery of the basics.
2.) The pupil must set reasonable and appropriate goals which he can be expected to achieve in a reasonable and prescribe period of time.
3.) The pupil must be controlled and motivated to assimilate, use or experience the educational material – acknowledges the necessity for discipline, guidance and responsible leadership.
4.) The pupil’s learning must be measurable. – Test – accountability – responsible for their learning.
5.) The pupil’s learning must be rewarded – recognition of the children’s effort.

Our individualization begins with the DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, which allows us to determine the exact areas where the student has learning gaps, and gives the place in the curriculum where they can perform at their best advantage.
Individualization continues with each student working in their OFFICE, where they have set their goals before themselves on the GOAL CHART. Each day they compete, not with others, but themselves, determining how they can do better.
The system of School of Tomorrow also provides for particular abilities in the EXPANDED CURRICULUM that is available for those who are more rapid in their accomplishments. They can work on special projects as they finish their DAILY GOALS and reach PRIVILEGED STATUS for the week. Each of these is a vital part of the SYSTEM of education, which cannot be duplicated, by the conventional system.

This is a term in education that refers to meeting the separate and specific needs of students. On a number of occasions, personnel from the DepEd have referred to the SOT curriculum as being “truly individualized”. This means that the concept of the individualization is carried out in its entirety.
Lock-stepped refers to moving a group of students in the same direction at the same time and at the same rate. The group or class moves academically as a unit. Everyone does the same thing at the same time. It would be considered an opposite concept to “individualized”. The traditional classroom is lock-stepped. The teacher moves on through the lesson plan regardless of the degree of mastery by all students of materials presented.
MARANATHA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY does not lock-step students. Each student is regarded as an individual, made in the image of God. He/She is encouraged to develop according to his own unique abilities. As the old saying goes, “let every tub stand on it’s own bottom,” We encourage parents and educators to test our students on an individual basis. Let each person prove his own worth and ability.
