Every year, the Sunday School ministry of Maranatha hosts a summer camp for the children named Camp David. Camp David was created for the purpose of ushering our church kids to an encounter with the living God and an equipping to partner with Him for His Kingdom work. We believe that these encounters with God will mark their hearts so that they will live for His glory.

Every year, we do have different themes with different sets of speakers depending on God’s leading. This year’s camp is themed “Loved by the King” quoted from Revelation 1:5-6. We believe that God wants to affirm the hearts of the children that they are unconditionally loved by their Heavenly Father.

During the camp, we teach the children how to pray, worship and do their devotions in the Word. We believe these are vital to their training as they seek to know God more.

We also have games and workshops where the children can socialize and learn to work with others and even find new friends.

Lastly, we don’t only teach but we also minister to them. We pray and let the Holy Spirit minister to them. This is the time when the children get to really know the person of the Holy Spirit and His work in our lives. This is where children experience the beauty of God’s manifest presence and receive revelations from Abba.

The Camp is also open to out-of-town delegates coming from different Maranatha branches, affiliates and other churches around Cebu. We have always opened our doors for other churches to taste the goodness of His presence.

It is indeed very satisfying to see the children getting filled and ready for God’s call in their lives through Camp David.
